However, it consists partly of origin-certified, bio-circular (based on bio-based residues from industry and households) and recycled plastics (post-consumer recycled material). The WAGO Splicing Connector with Levers Green Range minimizes reliance on fossil resources and keeps plastics in circulation. Specifically, the lever (PBT) consists of at least 27% reused PET bottles. Up to 77% of the housing is based on bio-based residues from industry and households, such as tall oil, used fat and residues from the production of edible oils, which are processed into high-quality polycarbonate using clever technical processes to reduce the use of fossil resources. This shows that a waste product can become a valuable resource again. The process makes the connector an alternative with greater sustainability while having the same quality and certifications as the standard 221 Series Splicing Connector. However, it's not just the connector that is becoming "greener"; its packaging is also "greener" because WAGO also pays attention to the resources used and, thus, to the ecological footprint when packaging it. WAGO's Splicing Connector with Levers Green Range is packaged in grass paper with a 30% grass fiber content and a 70% recycled paper content. This saves 5.6% CO2 equivalent and 11% water in production compared to pure recycled paper production.
