Red Pitaya Advances Scalable Test & Measurement with STEMlab Gen 2 for Nordic Engineering Applications

STEMlab Gen 2 delivers synchronized multiboard systems and 62.5 MB/s streaming, enabling scalable FPGA-based data acquisition and control for demanding Nordic engineering environments.

Red Pitaya continues to strengthen its position in industrial and research environments with its STEMlab Gen 2 platform, now enhanced with expanded multichannel synchronization and significantly faster data streaming.

Following its introduction at Embedded World, the latest Gen 2 capabilities focus on system-level performance—enabling engineers to build scalable, synchronized measurement and control systems using modular, FPGA-based instrumentation.

With support for multi-board synchronization, engineers can combine multiple STEMlab devices into a single, tightly aligned system. Using shared clock and trigger distribution, configurations can be adapted to specific applications—from high-channel-count data acquisition to synchronized signal generation—while maintaining deterministic timing across all nodes.

At the same time, the upgraded streaming architecture increases throughput from 20 MB/s to 62.5 MB/s per board, supporting more demanding real-time workflows, faster data transfer, and extended signal capture. The addition of Deep Memory Mode further enables high-speed acquisition and waveform generation directly from onboard memory.

These capabilities are particularly relevant for Nordic industries, where applications often require distributed systems, long-term reliability, and operation in demanding environments—from renewable energy and industrial automation to advanced sensing and research.

By combining compact hardware, open architecture, and scalable performance, STEMlab Gen 2 allows engineers to move efficiently from prototyping to deployment—without the cost and complexity of traditional instrumentation.

At Electronica Göteborg 2026, Red Pitaya will showcase how its Gen 2 platform supports the development of flexible, high-performance measurement systems tailored to modern engineering challenges.
